Compulsory
health cover
It is an Australian Government
requirement that student visa holders
contribute to the Overseas Student
Health Cover Scheme (OSHC).
This insurance will cover your visits
to doctors, specialist visits, and
hospitalisation, pathology services,
x-rays and some prescriptions. Cover
must be paid before your student
visa is issued. How much you pay for
OSHC will depend on the length of
your course. The amount payable for
your health cover is shown on your
Letter of Offer.
TAFE SA has a preferred provider for
OSHC, but you are free to choose
another health cover provider if
you wish.

“
I struggled when I first arrived in Adelaide to adapt
to the culture and language. Student services helped me
both personally and academically and offered me help
with English, counselling and academic support.
