This vocationally oriented course is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in the
Australian sport and recreation industry. The course trains students using a combination of theory
subjects, practical experience and vocational projects. This course includes a period of industry
placement. It includes extensive placements and field trips.
Students will also have the opportunity to plan and organise sports carnivals with underprivileged
school children overseas.
This course also involves a study tour at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.

The Diploma of Outdoor Recreation is ideal for the adventurous - incorporating hiking, climbing,
rafting, mountain biking and guiding. Strong outdoor skills will be complemented by the techniques
required to teach/instruct others, work with and manage people and guide and instruct trips.
Students will learn about the environment, minimal impact, weather prediction and interpretation
and remote area first aid.
This course prepares participants for the demands of the Outdoor Recreation Industry. It will provide
students with a wide range of outdoor activity training to both a guide and instructor level. The
course content focuses around developing the capabilities required to plan and deliver an outdoor
recreation program for a wide range of clientele. Specific skills developed can be in the areas of
bushwalking, canoeing, rafting, climbing, risk management, navigation and trip planning, mountain
biking and sea kayaking.
To successfully complete this program students are required to complete a number of compulsory
vocational placements within the Outdoor Recreation industry. These placements and a number of
compulsory field trips may take place both during the week and at weekends and are designed to
allow students further opportunity to develop their techniques within workplace settings.
Complementary Health

The Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice will provide graduates with the skills to work as
a Massage Therapist. Participants will learn a variety of massage skills which are based on a
comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, surface anatomy and specific musculoskeletal
assessment. They will develop the skills required to apply massage in a therapeutic environment.
On successful completion of the Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice, students may have the
opportunity to study Diploma of Remedial Massage.
Diploma of Remedial Massage will provide graduates with the skills to work as a Remedial
Massage Therapist. Participants will learn a variety of remedial massage skills which are based on
a comprehensive underpinning knowledge of anatomy, physiology and surface anatomy. Students
will develop skills, and a variety of remedial techniques and specific musculoskeletal assessment
protocols.
They will develop the skills required to assess and treat soft tissue dysfunction, alleviate pain,
improve body function and manage musculo-skeletal injuries.
Advanced Diploma of
Naturopathy

The Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy provides participants with a variety of specialised skills to
work in the natural healing sector. Students will learn how to manipulate clients’ diets to prevent
disease and improve the quality of life. They will gain an understanding of the impact of vitamins,
minerals and complex herbs on the day to day functioning of the human body.
On completion of this course students will be skilled in both nutritional medicine and the use of
herbs. Graduates will be able to apply skills generated over hundreds of years to restore health and
vitality to the human body. They will have developed a holistic natural approach to helping clients live
happier, healthier lives.
