An intensive initial teacher-training program for people wishing to enter the field of teaching English
as a foreign language. Graduates of this course will receive the University of Cambridge Certificate
of English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA), which will qualify them to teach English around the
world.
The Institute assists graduates with finding suitable employment overseas.
This course is not CRICOS registered and is available to non student visa holders.

These courses are designed to prepare competent personnel to provide high quality education
and care for children, from birth to 12 years. This may include centre-based care, family day care,
occasional care, out-of-school hours care and a variety of associated services. At the diploma level,
the course provides the skills and knowledge for those who are responsible for developing and
evaluating a children’s services program. Staff at this level take responsibility for the supervision
of other staff and volunteers and are expected to work with local communities in the provision of
services. These courses include several periods of industry placement and assessment in a variety
of settings.
Students successfully completing the diploma may enter into the second year of Holmesglen’s
Bachelor of Early Childhood Education. Literacy and numeracy requirements will apply.
