Before entering UNSW Foundation Studies, students will need to have reached
a minimum level of English language profciency. The minimum requirements
for entry are set out below.
English qualifcations that are not listed below will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Results currently accepted
include GCE A levels, HKDSE English Language and STPM.
If results are not available on application, UNSW Foundation Studies will usually accept forecast and progressive results.
Note: English language tests should have been taken within 12 months of the enrolment date.

* IELTS: International English Language Testing System. Tests are conducted in Australia at a number of locations, including UNSW Institute of Languages. For overseas
students contact IDP Education Australia Offces and UNSW Global or British Council Offces. Applicants must take the Academic Module and must achieve consistent
results across all bands.
** TOEFL: Test of English as a Foreign Language. A TOEFL score is not acceptable without the Test of Written English (TWE) for paper-based and computer-based tests,
or Writing for Internet-based test. UNSW Global is registered as a test site for the TOEFL iBT.
# Longer or shorter English language programs are also available, depending on your English level and/or preference.
Note: 1. UNSW Foundation Studies expects sub-score results to be consistent with the overall specifed minimum requirement.
2.The English language requirements may be satisfed by successful completion of full-time secondary or tertiary studies, or equivalent qualifcation, with a duration of at
least one year, from an approved institution.
