If you are demonstrating your English
profciency with a TOEFL test score, you
must arrange for UQ to receive an original
copy of an offcial TOEFL score report
for tests other than Internet-based. For
Internet-based TOEFL tests, please provide
a copy of the TOEFL results for verifcation
purposes. Please note that The University of
Queensland does not accept TOEFL results
for quota-based programs, nor does it
accept institutional TOEFL tests.

English language studies and
IELTS at UQ
If you wish to increase your English language
profciency, you can undertake intensive
English language studies at UQ’s Institute of
Continuing & TESOL Education (ICTE-UQ).
English language training courses offered by
ICTE-UQ are outlined on page 38).
If you wish to receive a package offer of
English language studies at ICTE-UQ and
a conditional offer of admission to a UQ
academic program, you must frst meet
all other program entry requirements and
provide UQ with evidence of your current
level of English language profciency.
ICTE-UQ has been an IELTS test
administration centre since 1989.

visa purposes
If you satisfy the University’s English
language profcency requirements, you
may still need to meet additional student
visa requirements for English profciency as
required by the Department of Immigration
and Citizenship (DIAC).
DIAC only accepts certain English tests
for visa purposes where evidence of English
language profciency is required: please visit
the website for details.
