UQADVANTAGEAWARD
The UQ Advantage Award is a program
that encourages undergraduate students
to undertake experiences beyond the
classroom during their degree.
By joining the program, you will participate
in a range of co-curricular activities and
workshops that will help you gain a better
understanding of the world, and develop key
competencies that employers value.
It’s a great way to get recognition
for “non-academic” experiences such
as student exchange, mentoring and
undergraduate research programs.
And it’s free!
By registering for the program you will
participate in activities across three core
categories:
Global and cultural engagement
– international exchange, language study,
international short-term programs
Research and entrepreneurship
– internships, conference presentations,
summer research project
Social responsibility and leadership
– volunteering, student associations,
participating in a student mentorship
program.
You will also attend seminars designed to
improve your life skills and fast-track your
professional development in a symposium
series that includes workshops on topics
such as presentation and research skills,
networking, and the benefits of volunteering.
If you complete all program requirements,
you will receive a statement of attainment
upon graduation that attests to your
enhanced student experience and skill set.
Your UQ. Your Advantage.

“The UQ Advantage Award has been
just as valuable (if not more) than my
degree itself. I’ve been to Guatemala
on the U21 Social Entrepreneur
Corps, completed a Summer
Research Project, presented at the
Undergraduate Research Conference,
volunteered in Tasmania, and led
the Engineers Without Borders UQ
Chapter: all amazing experiences!”
