Linguistics
Offering a solid foundation in linguistic theory and practice, these programs are a quality professional development opportunity for
language teachers and language professionals in translation and interpreting. You will gain a strong understanding of concepts, current
issues, and research methods in the core areas of applied linguistics, and will also have the opportunity to explore research options and
develop specialisations for further study. (These programs do not provide entry qualifcations for language teaching.)

Translation and
Interpreting
Designed to develop your profciency in translation and interpreting between the English and Mandarin languages, these programs also help
you understand the theory of translation as well as practise interpreting. You will be trained in different areas, including society, business and
trade, law, science and technology, politics and international relations, and upon graduation will be able to perform in professional translation
and interpreting situations. The code of ethics in translation and interpreting lies at the foundation of the program, and you will acquire
specifc cultural and social knowledge relevant to the countries in which the languages are spoken.
