Management
Project management is the discipline of organising and managing resources in such a way that they deliver all the work required
to complete a project within defned scope, time, cost and quality constraints within acceptable levels of risk. Project managers
can be found in all industries. UQ’s postgraduate programs in project management are based on the nine core knowledge
areas of the international institutes of project management. You will be introduced to the principles and applications of project
management in asset and operations mode. As a graduate of the program you will demonstrate a strong understanding of the
background, principles and applications of project management.

Designed for students in all felds of study to develop knowledge and skills in the commercialisation of research, this
program examines the fundamentals of the commercialisation process including the innovation process and the contribution
of commercialisation to economic and social development. You will explore these fundamentals, and the context of
commercialisation (including the role of the University and the methods used to commercialise research). The broad aim of
the program is to understand and promote the commercialisation of research in industry, both in public and private sector
organisations, thereby improving business productivity and global competitiveness.

Accounting
The program allows you to develop the skills necessary to practise in the accounting profession. You will complete #12 (six
courses) of common courses and then select a further #4 (two courses) to complete the necessary prerequisites for associate
membership of either the Certifed Practising Accountants (CPA) (Australia) or the Institute of Chartered Accountants in
Australia (ICAA)*.
