Prospective international students should note that that all school-
age dependants who accompany them must attend school whilst in
Australia. These school age dependants will be required to pay full
fees if enrolled in a government or non-government school.
student deferral, suspension and cancellation of enrolment
Students can defer commencement of their program or temporarily
suspend their enrolment once they have commenced studies in
certain limited compassionate and compelling circumstances.
When deferral, suspension or cancellation of enrolment is rejected,
students have the right to appeal the decision. Deferral, suspension
or cancellation of enrolment might affect the student visa. Students
should contact Student Services to discuss their individual situation.
Please remember that all requests for deferral, suspension
or cancellation of enrolment must be made in writing to
Student Services.
attendance
For students on student visas, the Department of Immigration
and Citizenship (DIAC) requires the Institute to monitor students’
attendance. Your visa is conditional on your attendance in class being
no less than 80%. Any student whose attendance is less than 80%
must be reported to DIAC. Students who receive a warning letter
about their attendance should respond to it immediately.
overseas students health cover (oshc)
It is compulsory for international students on student visas
to have medical cover for the proposed duration of their student visa,
provided through one of the approved Australian providers of the
