UnsW institute of languages provides a range of support services.
academic and Personal support
The UNSW Institute of Languages has trained and
experienced advisers who are able to advise you on your
course plans and study options. Staff are also available to
assist you in relation to personal problems which may arise,
including referral to other appropriate support.
health service
UNSW’s Health Service offers general medical consultations
to students. Medical visits can be direct billed to your
Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) provider.
airport Pick-up service
You can arrange for a pick-up service from the airport
on arrival in Sydney to your nominated homestay or
hotel accommodation.
accommodation
The UNSW Institute of Languages has an Accommodation
Offcer to assist you in fnding suitable accommodation.
A range of accommodation options are available, including
short and long-term accommodation such as homestay
(residing with an Australian family) or renting an apartment
with other students.
Homestay Accommodation:
You live in a home with an
Australian family that provides you with a furnished bedroom
and use of the house. Homestay enables you to learn
more about Australian culture and practice English at
the same time.
UniLodge:
UniLodge Residential College (UniLodge@
UNSW) is located in Kensington and is specifcally designed
for young students enrolling in UNSW Foundation Studies
programs. UniLodge offers fully furnished studio and multi-
bedroom serviced apartments. The college is fve minutes
walking distance from the UNSW campus.

Temporary Accommodation:
Our accommodation offcer
can assist you in arranging temporary accommodation for
your frst few nights in Sydney.
Under 18 Care Arrangements and Accommodation:
This service is arranged by our welfare and accommodation
offcer for students under 18 years of age who reside in
approved accommodation.
International Students are required to complete an Under
18 Care Arrangement Form upon application. As this service
requires UNSW Global to carry out extensive preliminary
checks before issuing the Confrmation of Appropriate
Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW) letter, an additional fee
is charged. This fee includes a set-up charge of $410 plus
$15 a week for ongoing monitoring and supervision while the
student is under 18 years of age.
