your Program
Programs at the UNSW Institute of Languages include 20
hours of face-to-face teaching each week for a minimum of
5 weeks. Your program may include Academic English, General
English, Professional English or a combination of all three.
your class
Before you commence studying at the UNSW Institute of
Languages, your English level will be carefully assessed and
you will be placed in a class appropriate to your level. There
are strict entry requirements for Academic English programs
and more information about these requirements is provided
on page 10–15. You may be placed in class with lessons
in the mornings or in the afternoon.
your Progress and assessment
Throughout your program and on completion of each
level, your English will be reassessed to determine
your progress. Your grades may be based on a
combination of class participation, tests, writing
tasks, and speaking tasks. You will receive ongoing
progress reports throughout your course.
your achievements
You will receive a UNSW Institute of
Languages Certifcate with the level of
English you have attained on completion
of your enrolment.
