UNSW Foundation Studies has a team
of student advisers who offer friendly
support to students during their studies.
Support is especially important when
students frst arrive in Australia and are
settling into their new environment.
Student Support
To welcome all new students, student advisers organise an
orientation program to meet teachers and to provide information
about studies, as well as details of student visa requirements.
Tours of the UNSW campus and Sydney are also offered.
Orientation provides a great opportunity for students to meet one
another and make friends before formal classes begin.
Online Services
The UNSW Foundation Studies student intranet can be accessed
from anywhere in the world at any time. It provides access to
a variety of services and information such as online learning,
the academic calendar and timetables, student handbooks,
news and information on student activities, and a secure area
which allows access to assessment details and grades. The
student intranet also enables students to confrm their UNSW
preferences online as they move from UNSW Foundation Studies
into their UNSW undergraduate degree course.

and Accommodation
Clubs and Societies
On the UNSW campus, there are over 30 sports clubs, which
train and participate in competitions throughout the year.
Participation in sports is a great way to meet people with the
same interests and develop personal skills. Sport helps balance
academic study.
There are other clubs and societies on campus including
music, debating, theatre, science fction, politics, religion,
the environment and many more.
Accommodation Assistance
UNSW Foundation Studies has an Accommodation Offcer who
looks after all students, especially those under the age of 18.
The offcer meets with students on a regular basis to discuss
any concerns they may have regarding accommodation.
A wide range of short and long-term accommodation is available
for students. This includes staying at our residential college
(UniLodge@UNSW); homestay with an Australian family; or, if you
are over 18 years of age, renting a fat with other students.
The Accommodation Offcer can assist in arranging an airport
reception and transfer service for students arriving in Sydney
who do not have any friends or relatives to meet them.
Family, friends and students are welcome to contact the
Accommodation Offcer about any of these matters. Further
information can be found on our website:

The UNSW Foundation Studies team is committed to helping all
students reach their full potential and complete their program
to the highest standard. As part of this commitment, we offer
