Services
Pre-departure information
is critical for all students before
departing their home country. Be prepared and you will enjoy your
new surroundings! There are many things to think about before you
arrive in Australia. Chisholm has developed the Pre-Departure and
Arrival Guide to help students prepare for life and study in
Australia. This guide is found on the Future Students link at
chisholm.edu.au/international
Chisholm International Course Guide
is a useful source of
course, campus and administrative information. View the guide
online at chisholm.edu.au/international. You will also be given a hard
copy upon arrival.
Airport pickup
is a safe, reliable and stress-free service for
students when they arrive in Melbourne. The service is available to
all Chisholm students who pre-book it when accepting their place in
a Chisholm course. If you decide after you accept your course that
you wish to purchase this service, you may do so by submitting the
Airport Pickup request form.
The airport pickup service is available to all students arriving at
Melbourne Airport or Avalon Airport. Melbourne Airport is the major
airport and is the destination for all Melbourne-bound international
fights and most domestic fights. Avalon Airport is a smaller
airport that services some domestic fights and a small number of
international fights. If you are purchasing a connecting domestic
fight into Melbourne, please ensure you carefully check your arrival
airport.
You must inform Chisholm of your fight arrival details at least two
weeks before your arrival date to ensure your pickup is confrmed.
Late notifcations may not be able to be catered for due to high
demands at enrolment time.

Parents or relatives of Chisholm students are also welcome to use
this service if arriving on the same fight as the Chisholm student.

Chisholm works closely with an external service provider which
operates the airport pickup service. Chisholm is not responsible or
liable for this service provision.
Orientation
is an important and interesting opportunity for
you to formally register with Chisholm, receive vital information
about Chisholm and Melbourne and enjoy meeting new friends
and your teachers. When you accept your offer, you will receive
a confrmation letter that provides you with the date, time and
location of your initial orientation.
International student course coordinators
are nominated
in all teaching departments at Chisholm. This teacher is on hand to
assist you with any questions you may have and will refer you to
services or other Chisholm departments if required. You will meet
this teacher shortly after orientation and they will help you become
familiar with the campus, facilities and requirements of your course.
This teacher will monitor the attendance and course progression of
all students and ensure you are aware of your course requirements.
English and study skills
teachers and support staff are available
to help you adjust to studying in Australia. This ongoing service is
available to you free of charge. Teachers are on campus to help you
improve your listening, speaking, writing and reading skills, as well
as your comprehension skills.
Assistance is also available to help you understand and interpret
assessment criteria, develop assignment plans, develop your
research skills and improve your oral presentation skills.
Employment services
at Chisholm are run by professional
careers advisers who offer advice and assistance to all Chisholm
students. As a Chisholm student, you have access to the full range
of career and employment services including advice, assistance
with updating your CV/résumé, job searching and interview practice.
MyJobs Hub
at Chisholm is an online jobs hub that lists a range
of full time, part time and casual job vacancies. This online service
also has tips and tools to help you build your résumé and plus
events and activities to help you fnd a job, such as career expos
and employment events, industry showcase events, preparation
workshops and Chisholm events.
Student counselling
is available from qualifed counsellors at
Chisholm to support you through adjusting to life in Australia,
culture shock, personal and relationship issues, academic and
study problems, and any other problem or worry you might have.
Counselling sessions are free of charge and are available by
appointment.
